Josh, woke me early, no supprise there, and less surprisingly, suggested we go and look for the Trekkers, who normally are fishing about ten. Well we got there about 9 after finally i had the requisite cup of coffee and ciggaretee and some read of my book. Stayed until 11 and missed them.
The tide comming in, good colour in the water and we had the beach all to ourselves. South Easter still blowing, still chilly even with minimal clouds and a bright sun.
Set up the rods, again with blood worm, and then collected some redbait that was lying all along the beach. Sat down and shucked the bait, feeling my hands getting smellier and smellier. Some of the bait was fresh, as determined by standing on it and if the siphons still squirt water then it is newly washed up on the beach. Some of the bait had decidedly been there a while , turned white, very soft and oderous in the extreme.
Josh was in the car, not keen on the cold morning, however he was soon out and running up and down the beach collecting treasures as puts it. Collected me some fine balls of sand red bait, it is great to have a handy helper. One little reel run that returned nothing but a dose of adrenaline and excitement. Missed, damn.
Left after 11 as had to go and chek out Wilmas upgrade in Plumstead, it did also mean that i could go to tuckers, which although is expensive, is very helpfull and i enjoy a good dose of envy over all the things i want but can't afford. Bought some Chokka lures to replace those I lost at Kalk bay last week. R17 each, cheap, really.
Full moon today and tommorrow and Ali of Galjoen at Broken road fame, suggested in an Email that Full moon at Kalk Bay was good for Chokka. Might try tommorrow or Monday.
